- Which type of company should I use to operate in Panama?
- It depends on the activity, on the number and profile of the shareholders, on tax treatment and on the licenses your industry requires. We assess the corporation (sociedad anónima), the limited liability company and the branch of a foreign company, and recommend the best fit before anything is incorporated.
- Can a Panamanian company be incorporated from abroad?
- Yes. The process is handled remotely: we collect identification and due diligence documents for the ultimate beneficial owners, prepare the articles of incorporation and file with the Public Registry in Panama. You do not need to travel to incorporate.
- What obligations does a Panamanian company have once incorporated?
- Every company must keep a resident agent, accounting records and up-to-date beneficial ownership information, plus the annual filings and payments that apply and the licenses specific to its activity. Because these requirements change with legal reforms, we track each client’s deadlines.
- Do you offer ongoing corporate counsel or only incorporation?
- Both. Most of our corporate clients work under ongoing counsel packages: we act as the company’s legal team for minutes, contracts, regulatory compliance and day-to-day decisions.
